Construction Progress Update #9

It just seems like we did our last update, but then I looked at the calendar.  Oops.  Well, the clock is counting down to November 1, and Karen provided another bunch of exciting pictures.

Are you ready?

This is a great view of the entryway to the Salty Fox and the retail shop.  We love the contrast between the sand-aggregate finish and the wood siding.  The cinderblock will also be covered in sand aggregate.  In the background, you can see the utilities shed, which includes staff space, water closets, generators, and compressors. In the foreground is the very nice swimming pool.

Here is the view looking towards the pool, and into the background, the Somosomo straits.  They are starting to form up the bar so it can be poured, polished, and sealed.  How do those wood finishes look?

The construction crew has begun wiring the lighting and power throughout the bures.  There are a couple neat things to notice in this picture.  First, look at the floors! Also take a look at the locally harvested rain tree furniture.

It's full blown Taveuni-class darkness out there.  The accent lighting is nearly finished. Looking pretty good.

This is the view looking up into the gable end above the bure's front porch.  They've added accent fixtures to highlight the beauty of the wood.  I like the contrast between the tongue-and-groove, the beams, and the sand finish.

This is the exterior of Bure #1 at night.  This was a test so we could test the impact of the lighting.

In the bathrooms, they are beginning to seal the tile in the showers.  Love the contrast between the tile, walls, and wood!
